Lenham Ballet School

Lenham Ballet School (LBS) was established in 1975 by Vivienne Lawrence and runs classes in conjunction with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) and Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) syllabi. The school is committed to providing high quality dance technique instruction as well as performance opportunities, which are an integral part of any young dancers' training.

With fully qualified teachers, we offer a range of classes for children aged 2 years upwards, and all students are encouraged to enter for examinations with both the RAD and ISTD. The School has a consistent high level of attainment.

The school is situated in Kent, just off the A20, close to Junction 8 of the M20, halfway between Maidstone and Ashford, in the beautiful village of Lenham. Click here to check the location on a map

Our venue has good parking facilities and is within easy reach of the nearby villages of Charing, Egerton, Pluckley, Headcorn and Harrietsham.

EXAMINATIONS AND PERFORMANCE

All children are given the opportunity to enter for RAD and ISTD examinations throughout the year in order to progress through the grades and although this is desirable, it is not compulsory.

During the school year, students are given the chance to take part in many of the performance opportunities that LBS offer and we see this as an important part of their training to gain confidence, promote expression but most of all to have fun and enjoy their dancing.

LBS also holds its own concert every two years, which involves the whole school. Past productions have included Coppelia, Alice in Wonderland, and The Snow Queen.
